Shinjuku Eisa Matsuri 2015

Shinjuku Eisa Matsuri celebrates old customs, but is a relatively young festival. Eisa Matsuri originated from the southern island of Japan "Okinawa"  to honor ancestors and pray for prosperity via traditional dance and music. It was only thirteen years ago when the festival was brought from Okinawa to Tokyo. Since then Shinjuku has been hosting the festival and quickly became a summer tradition. Just head to Shinjuku station and follow the taiko drum beat to find this event!
  • Date: Saturday, July 25th
  • Time: 11:00 – 20:00
